TO MY MUSLIMS BROTHERS AND SISTERS

2021-04-24

Praise be to Allah who brought down the book in truth and made it guidance and mercy for all mankind, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone and no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is his slave and His Messenger of God, no prophet or messenger after him. O Allah, send blessings upon our master, our beloved Muhammad, on his family and his companions, and on those who follow them until the Day of Judgment. This article is directed to youth Muslim brothers and sisters who want to purify their souls and raise them to be souls that free from all what God has forbidden and a spirit of high ambition in worshiping Him, and do not forget the call to the right path of God. Young people in the present time, many are preoccupied with matters of the world and leave the affairs of religion and the Hereafter, so the writer has written this article to provide advise for young people and remedy which is Nasihat (reminding) so that they can realize of those defects and bad habits that must be abandoned, and the righteous deeds that should be desalinated to serve as role models for others. Firstly, seeking forgiveness from Allah. There is no Muslims who do not make mistakes or fall in sinful acts, especially in modern times, which is the time of corruptions, sins, and lusts surrounding every one of them. However, one may fall in the sinful acts easily by possession of electronic devices and social media through mobile phone, computer, etc. that could open the doors of evil and finally fall into pitfall of Satan. On the other hand, Muslims, especially young people, are attracted by these things so that they become addicted to them and abandon the God commandment, such as prayer, reciting the Qur’an, and so on. Every Muslim must first know and feel the mistakes that they made and should repent to Allaah, and never stop repenting until the day has come to. Secondly, establish solat. O my young Muslims brothers and sisters come forth for Solat, indeed, it prevent you from obscenity and evil. One of the most important obligatory responsibility commanded by God is Solat that if anyone abandons it will be punished in the hereafter, and it is even considered as the pillar of Islam religion. The writer sees that there are many mistakes and negligence in prayer, especially among the youth. For example, delay in prayer, waiting for the call for standing up or prayer and then coming to prayer, prioritizing other things before prayer, such as bathing, eating and drinking till missing the first rak’ah or takbeer Ihram, accelerating in performing Solat, and so on. Therefore, these habits must be changed so that their prayers will be accepted by God and till they see it as the most important thing in this world. Thirdly, Quranic revision. Brothers and sisters, commit yourselves to recitation of the Qur’an, teaching it and make it to the implementation in your life. Quran is the words of Allah, revealed to Muhammad, and showing guidance and mercy to all mankind. Every Muslim must have a friend and companion in this world as well as Quran that you have to make friend with to company you in the day that no friends appear to help you. The Muslim does not pass a single day except after the Qur’an was recited. Unfortunately, Quran is printed and published for Muslims around the world, but only few recited it, and it was even found at homes on the shelters. Fourthly, preciousness of time. O’ my Muslim brothers and sisters, bear in mind that time is life, whoever invested on it alive and whoever neglected it lost. Time is extremely expensive for human, but less who is capable in gaining benefits from it. O’ brothers and sisters, for you to gain benefit from the time as much as possible, such as seeking knowledge, worshiping God, Make Da’wa, and others righteous deeds. Surely, every has their free time but how can their manage it well in and not lose it for the things that is not useful for. From the possibility in benefit from the time even waiting for the bus going to or coming back from the office, while walking, waiting for teacher in class room, and so on. Moreover, from your little free time you can even make it for the remembrance of God or Zikr, lesson revision form classes, reading books. Therefore, cleverest people is who know how to gain more benefits from their free time and even see it as the most important things in their life. Fifthly, make it for the sake of religious services (Islam). O’ brothers and sisters, what did you do for your religion (Islam)? The Mu’min do not live for their own interest, their heart will not be clam unless they spent life for the sake of Islam which is calling people to God and the unity of God and bring people from darkness to the light. Muslims can make Da’wa wherever and which position in the society they are-like preachers who are every experienced in Da’wa or the ordinary people who know less about Islam all of them can make Da’wa even for one verse form the Quran. Therefore, Da’wa is not specifically for those preachers or students who are knowledgeable on Islamic knowledge but it is for every mature Muslims. Sixthly, be grateful to God. O’ brothers and sisters, give thanks to God for all blessings that He gave us if you are from those who obeyed and worship Him. As traced in the Quran; “وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ” “And less from my servants who are grateful” What Allah portrayed in the Quran is those who are not being grateful to His Ni’mat and blessing from Him, and that what many people are unaware of especially in this present time where the objects are more meaningful than any other things. Seventhly, caution from bad habits. O’ brothers and sisters, take pre-caution on those evil and bad habits. There are many kinds of bad habits that more of Muslims are getting involve or engage in particularly among youth, such as, going to bed late which lead to missing of dawn prayer, missing the most precious and blessing time for worshiping God after dawn prayer-like Quran recitation, remembrance of God (Zikr), and Duha prayer. Therefore, you have to emphasis more on your time in order to avoid from this kind of bad habit. Lastly, we pray to God for His blessing and guidance and grant us Firdaws A’la, Ya Rab A’ la min.
